How to play Hecarim
Read the full guide
Keep Q warm between camps and ganks, because stacked Q is the version of Hecarim that actually deals damage, and cold visits both flatten your combo and push his early component timing into the bad zone
Use Ghost to start the run, E late when the steering actually matters, and R through or past the target so the fear sends them somewhere bad; early E or a front-door ult just broadcasts the whole play
Good Hecarim games usually steal a second thing after the first hit—enemy camps, dragon, or Herald—because he is unusually sensitive to early gold swing and his lead cools off fast if you do not cash it while the map is still moving
Go back to horse income immediately. If the first visit fails and you lost Q stacks, health, or both summoners for nothing, do not hover the lane trying to force the play back into existence. Reset your route, clear fast, rebuild stacks, and look for the next move from a loaded state instead of a frustrated one. Hecarim recovers much better by taking two or three clean camp cycles and showing up strong to the next river or side play than by donating another minute to a lane that already knows you are there. The mistake is usually not the failed gank. It is the second one.
Hecarim gains Attack Damage equal to a percentage of his bonus Move Speed.
Hecarim cleaves nearby enemies dealing physical damage. If Hecarim damages at least one enemy, he increases the damage and lowers the cooldown of subsequent Rampages.
Hecarim gains Armor and Magic Resist. Hecarim deals magic damage to nearby enemies, and gains Health equal to a percentage of any damage those enemies suffer.
Hecarim gains increasing Move Speed and can move through units for a short duration. His next attack knocks the target back and deals additional physical damage based on the distance he has traveled since activating the ability.
Hecarim summons spectral riders and charges forward, dealing magic damage in a line. Hecarim creates a shockwave when he finishes his charge, causing nearby enemies to flee in terror.
