How to play Kayle
Read the full guide
Start E, use your own minion wave as cover, and treat pre-6 farming as permission-based: if a melee last hit will cost your health bar, give it up, because Q max on Kayle is often what keeps a freeze from turning the lane into a prison
Kayle top pays you back more than almost any top laner for keeping the first ten minutes from snapping; recent data shows she gets the biggest 30+ reward in the role from being roughly even at 10, while the real losing state is the lane collapsing hard enough that her later forms arrive too late
Use R on the burst or CC window that would actually end the fight for that target, while they can still keep dealing damage afterward—often yourself, but sometimes the diver or fed carry the enemy has fully committed onto
Default to self-cast when you are the one with the safest, longest damage window, especially in front-to-back fights where you can keep autoing through the invulnerability and clean up after it ends. Switch to an ally when they are already fully committed and the enemy has clearly decided to dump the fight into them: a diving bruiser in the middle of four people, a fed melee carry who will keep swinging, or the marksman being hard-collapsed on. The check is simple in the moment: when R ends, who is still in position to keep dealing damage? Cast for that version of the fight.
Kayle's attacks are empowered by the heavens as she levels up and spends skill points. Her wings are lit aflame as she progressively gains Attack Speed, Move Speed, Attack Range, and waves of fire on her attacks.
Kayle conjures a portal, summoning a celestial sword that pierces through enemies, slowing, damaging, and reducing the resistances of all hit.
Blessed by the divine, Kayle heals and grants Move Speed to herself and the nearest ally.
Passive: Kayle's celestial sword, Virtue, deals bonus magic damage to enemies she attacks.Active: Kayle's next attack smites her target with celestial fire, dealing bonus damage proportionate to their missing health.
Kayle makes an ally invulnerable and calls upon former Aspects of Justice to purify the area around her target with a holy rain of swords.
