How to play Kennen
Read the full guide
Start real trades with a loaded W auto and, if possible, one mark already on them, because Kennen with prepared stacks makes Flash-R and stun timing land before people get the clean dash or Flash they were waiting for .
If you keep spending E on the wave, top lane stops feeling like Kennen top and starts feeling like target practice, since that same spell is your exit, your anti-gank button, and the thing that keeps bruiser trades from turning into a long chase .
Kennen is less tied to hard-winning lane than similar ranged/AP tops, so do not force the game into a solo-kill exam or a long side-lane residency; recent data says he keeps more value than Jayce or Vladimir without a giant early lead, and that value shows up when he brings Flash and storm threat to grouped fights instead of re-dueling forever
With Flash down, stop looking for the clean backline jump and start making the fight come toward you. Play closer to brushes, side fog, and choke points where one earlier Q or loaded W auto can shorten the time to stun. In lane or side, be quicker to crash and leave instead of staying for one more wave, because your margin for escaping long trades is lower. In grouped fights, you usually want someone else to start the mess first, then walk in once a diver, support, or short-range carry has already stepped into storm range. The goal is still access, just earned through position instead of Flash.
Kennen stuns enemies he hits 3 times with his abilities.
Kennen throws a fast moving shuriken towards a location, causing damage and adding a Mark of the Storm to any opponent that it hits.
Kennen passively deals extra damage and adds a Mark of the Storm to his target every few attacks, and he can activate this ability to damage and add another Mark of the Storm to targets who are already marked.
Kennen morphs into a lightning form, enabling him to pass through units and apply a Mark of the Storm. Kennen gains Move Speed when entering this form, and attack speed when leaving it.
Kennen summons a storm that strikes at nearby enemy champions for magical damage.
