How to play Master Yi
Read the full guide
Master Yi is a first-reset jungler: his best games are the ones where one kill turns Highlander into continuous contact, and the recent window backs that up by showing his wins skew unusually hard toward isolated kill pressure.
Play Q like a receipt, not a ticket—run in with R and E, make them show the Flash, dash, or CC first, then Alpha after they try to break contact.
Drill AA-W-AA: the short Meditate tap is an auto reset and burst buffer that often steals the last hit needed for the first reset, and when that kill happens Yi should usually eat the exposed jungle quadrant before the map can settle.
Start the fight assuming you would rather walk than Q unless something specific has already happened. If you can reach with R and E, keep hitting and wait for the moment they try to break contact: the Flash, dash, knockup, tower shot, or burst spell that would otherwise end your turn. That is usually the Alpha window. You can also spend Q early if it guarantees the kill before peel arrives, but only when you are sure it cashes immediately. If you keep pressing Alpha as your entrance button, you give up the spell that makes the rest of Yi’s damage stick.
Every few consecutive basic attack, Master Yi strikes twice.
Master Yi teleports across the battlefield with blinding speed, dealing physical damage to multiple units in his path, while simultaneously becoming untargetable. Alpha Strike can critically strike and deals bonus physical damage to monsters. Basic attacks reduce Alpha Strike's cooldown.
Master Yi rejuvenates his body by focus of mind, restoring Health and taking reduced damage for a short time. In addition, Master Yi will gain stacks of Double Strike and pause the remaining duration on Wuju Style and Highlander for each second he channels.
Grants bonus true damage on basic attacks.
Master Yi moves with unparalleled agility, temporarily increasing his Move Speed and Attack Speed as well as making him immune to all slowing effects. While active, Champion kills or assists extend Highlander's duration. Passively reduces cooldown for his other abilities on a kill or assist.
