How to play Rell
Read the full guide
Ask “which W?” before every fight: many of Rell’s cleanest engages start from dismounted threat or E -> Q -> W, because the mains pattern is to arrive first and only then remount or Crash Down once the runway is short.
Treat Q as the shield receipt for the all-in—breaking Barrier, Black Shield, Tahm, Shen, Sett, or similar layers with the stun is what makes Rell’s first touch actually stick, and spending it on the wrong body is how the champion starts feeling fake.
Once bot has burned a summoner or stopped giving you a clean touch, look for the next W-R pileup off lane; recent data says that early off-lane contact pays Rell slightly more than it does several nearby engage supports.
When you are dismounted, remount as soon as it solves a specific problem: you can hit a target that already burned mobility, you can chain onto someone your team has slowed or stunned, or you can stop the diver who is about to reach your backline. If none of those are true, stay patient for a beat. Walking in dismounted form often gets you closer than another instant Crash Down would, and that is what makes the remount knockup hard to dodge. In messy fights, saving remount for the second contact is often stronger than spending both W forms just to start.
Rell's Attacks and Abilities deal additional magic damage and steal Armor and Magic Resist on hit.
Rell deals magic damage to units in a line, breaking their shields and stunning them.
Mounted: Rell Dismounts, crashing down in her armor, Knocking enemies up and gaining a large Shield. While dismounted, she gains Armor, Magic Resist, Attack Speed, and Attack Range, but is Slowed.Dismounted: Rell forms her Mount, gaining a burst of speed and Knocking Up the next enemy she attacks.
Passive: Rell gains out of combat Move Speed.Active: Rell and an ally gain ramping Move Speed, doubled toward enemies and each other. Her next Attack explodes, dealing magic damage.
Rell explodes in a magnetic fury, violently Pulling nearby enemies toward herself. Then Rell constantly Drags nearby enemies toward herself for a short while, dealing magic damage over time.
